Tax & Invoice Settings

The tax line on every quote and invoice, and the business details printed under it. Ontario shops charge 13% HST.

Prices are tax-inclusive
On = tax already in quoted prices. Off = tax added on top.
Charge tax by delivery province
An order shipped to another province gets that province's tax: 5% GST to Alberta, 14% HST to Nova Scotia. One shipped outside Canada gets none, as an export. Pickup, local delivery and your own province keep your rate above.
Also registered to collect provincial tax in
Tick a province only if you collect its tax. Otherwise its customers pay GST alone.
New orders follow this, and open orders do when their address changes. Paid and invoiced orders never change.

Price policy

The decisions every engine shares: your minimum, the lead-time options a customer can pick, how price falls with quantity, and what finishes and extras add.

Loading…

Price by quantity

Professional and up Answers "how much for 1, 5, 10?" before anyone has to ask. Prices come from your own engine, so they always match the quote.

On the quote page
Under each part: the price each and the total at 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100. Tapping one sets the quantity.
On estimates
Adds "Price other quantities" to the Edit menu on each part of an order. Pick the quantities, copy them into an email or show the table on the estimate.

Lead-time options

Saved

What a customer can choose, what each option adds to the price, and how the days are worked out from the print time. The quoter never promises a day the print itself cannot make. Every change saves as you make it.

How you price

Three ways to turn a part into a price. Pick one; every path uses it — the website quoter, saved quotes, part-edit repricing and email auto-quotes — so there is always exactly one price. Each card shows what it would charge for the same sample part with your current rates.

Three numbers per technology, and the materials the quoter offers. Every change saves as you make it; the example part on the right re-prices as you type.

Each material’s spec sheet — tolerance, heat, chemical and UV resistance, default layer height and infill — is edited in Materials and colours (pick the material, then Spec sheet), and fills quotes, the order panel and your emails on its own.

How long a part takes to print

Turns a part's size into machine hours, which is what every lead time is built on. These start as estimates, not measurements — nothing has ever come back from the slicer with a real print time. The quickest way to fix that is at the bottom: give it a job you actually ran.

Averaged over a whole print, not the machine's peak. The number that matters most.
Walls, top and bottom — printed solid whatever the infill.
Used when a part does not say.
What paces a tall thin part, whatever its volume.
Heat soak, purge, bed prep, removal.
For parts with dimensions but no model. 15% is measured from your own parts.
Resin is paced by height alone — volume barely matters.
SLS goes to a supplier, so it is their calendar.

Correct it from a job you actually ran
Pick a chunky part — a tall thin one is paced by its layers and tells us nothing about speed. Two or three is plenty.

How your shop connects

Layers3D is online. The Layers3D Agent, on a computer at your shop, reaches your printers for it.

Your phone gets alerts from Layers3D: print done, print failed, filament low, printer errors. Works with the Bambu Handy app off.

Settings

Everything for the agent, in one list.

Questions

What shops ask most.

What does the agent do?
Layers3D is online, so it can't reach the printers in your shop. The agent runs on one computer at the shop and does it for Layers3D: it sends approved jobs to your printers, slices files for the real print time and grams, shows live progress and the camera under Production, and passes printer news on to your phone.
Does the computer have to stay on?
Yes. Turn off sleep. While it is off, nothing is sent or sliced and the printers show offline; it all carries on when the computer is back. It starts by itself when the computer does.
Which computer can I use?
A Windows PC, a Mac, a Linux computer or a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5, on the same network as your printers. A cable is steadier than Wi-Fi. On a Raspberry Pi it slices with OrcaSlicer only, because Bambu Studio has no Pi version. Install it
Will the Bambu Handy app still work?
Not in LAN Only mode, which Bambu printers need for prints sent from here. Turn on phone alerts and Layers3D tells you when a print is done, fails, or runs low on filament, or the printer shows an error.
Why does the printer need a USB stick?
A print sent over the network is copied onto the printer's USB stick (or SD card on older models) before it starts. Format it FAT32 and leave it plugged in. A printer's card under Production warns you when none is in.
How do I turn on LAN Only and Developer Mode?
On the printer's screen: Settings, then LAN Only. Turn on LAN Only, LAN Only Liveview and Developer Mode. Show me with pictures
Do I need slicing profiles?
No. Without one the agent uses the slicer's own settings for that machine. Add yours when quotes should match how you really print. In Bambu Studio set the printer, filament and process, then File, Save project, and upload the .3mf. In OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer export the settings as a .json. Your settings are laid over the slicer's own preset, so anything you did not change still comes from it. Resin and powder printers don't use them.
What is the virtual printer?
Layers3D Queue shows up in Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer as a printer. Slice, press Send, pick it, and the file joins your print queue, which sends it to the next free printer of that model. It runs on the agent. Set it up
Agent and computerInstall, add another computer, updates
Checking…
The computer it runs on:
  1. Download Layers3D-Agent.exe and run it on a PC that shares your printers' network. Windows may ask you to confirm an unrecognised app — choose Run anyway.
  2. Paste your agent token when it asks (Copy agent token above). It installs itself, starts with Windows, and stays out of sight; your printers appear here within a minute.
  3. Optional: OrcaSlicer on that PC switches on auto-slicing — upload one printer profile per printer + material, then approve a file to trigger the first slice.

The token is yours alone — your agent can only ever see your shop's jobs. Prefer a file? Download config.json and drop it next to the exe before running it. Lost or leaked? Ask support to rotate it.

Update the agent automatically
On = new versions install themselves, never during a slice. Off = each new version waits until you press Update now.

Services you offer

Anything switched off is hidden across the app — its tabs, its settings and its option on a new order — and from the quoter on your website. Nothing is deleted, so turning it back on brings everything back.

Repair catalog

Which printers you service. The repair request page shows a customer a live verdict the moment they pick a brand and model — "we service this", "case-by-case", or turned away — so out-of-scope machines never reach your inbox. Repair pricing

What a repair starts from. A new quote opens with the visit fee for the customer's choice and labour at your hourly rate, and you can change any line before you send it. Turn on Show these prices on the repair form and customers see the drop-off and on-site fees before they send a request.

On-site fee by area Price a visit by how far you drive: name each area, the start of its postal codes, and its fee. A postal code in no area is outside where you go, and the longest matching start wins, so N2L in a near area beats N2 in a far one. Each area's fee replaces the on-site visit fee.
What a repair usually takes Per symptom a customer can tick on the repair form. With your labour rate and prices shown on the form, each symptom shows its range ("usually $48 to $95 + parts"), and a new quote shows it as a hint. Leave a row empty to show nothing for it.

Repair bookings

Appointment hours

Technicians who go out on visits Each can be on one visit at a time, so two can be booked for the same hour. A visit goes to whoever is on the ticket, or the one with the fewest visits that day. With nobody ticked, the shop takes one visit at a time.

Both are on by default. The reminder runs on your daily schedule, never double-sends, and follows Email Test Mode like your other customer emails.
